Statewide, Kerry outpolled Connally by 32.1754 percent. If he had maintained that margin over Connally in the twelve suspect counties, he would have received 254,602 votes (1.32 x 192,624, which is the number of votes that Connally received in the twelve counties.) That is 81,260 more votes than the 173,003 ballots that were credited to Kerry in the twelve counties.
