"We're the Len Price 3," singer-guitarist Glenn Page declared, "and this is what we do." Which turned out to be endless, inventive twists on the grunting-guitar riff in the Kinks' "You Really Got Me," combined with shots of the early Who and the runaway Seventies pub rock of Dr. Feelgood. Wearing matching black-and-white striped jerseys, black stovepipe pants and white sneakers, Page, bassist Steve Huggins and drummer Neil Fromow (there is no Len Price in the band) updated their obsessions with an immediate slash and speed that have made their debut CD, Chinese Burn, a turntable hit on Little Steven's Underground Garage radio show.
