U2 Postpone Remainder of Tour

U2 have postponed the remaining March and April dates of their Vertigo tour --including stops in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii -- "due to the illness of an immediate family member of one of the band," tour promoter Arthur Fogel said. Specifics were not disclosed.

"Any fan of U2 will realize that this decision has not been taken lightly," Fogel added. Further details will be announced soon.

The launch of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers' 2005 Vertigo world tour, in support of the multiplatinum, Grammy-winning How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, was initially postponed due to family illness. Despite the rocky start -- which included a pre-sale ticket snafu -- the jaunt earned the band $139 million, landing the Irish group at the top of Rolling Stone's annual list of rock's top earners.
