Sheryl Crow Battles Cancer

Sheryl Crow is recovering from "minimally invasive" breast cancer surgery she underwent last Wednesday, and has postponed her North American tour in support of 2005's Wildflower, scheduled to kick off in March. The nine-time Grammy winner, 44, will undergo radiation treatment as a precaution and is expected to recover completely.

"I am joining the more than 200,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year," Crow wrote on her Web Site. "I am inspired by the brave women who have faced this battle before me."

The news of the singer's diagnosis comes just weeks after the announcement of her split with her fiance, seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong -- an outspoken survivor of testicular cancer. In a statement Friday, Armstrong said, "Once again, I'm reminded of just how pervasive this illness is, as it has touched someone I love deeply."

Taking her health into account, Crow hopes to reschedule as much of her tour as possible, but refunds for tickets will also be honored.
