Like their countrymen Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene, these four Canadians craft orchestral indie pop long on fuzzy melody and ramshackle charm. Their third full-length, Set Yourself on Fire, mixes up guitars, strings, horns and synths, over which Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan croon elegantly and harmonize softly on world-weary romantic odes like "Reunion" (a dreamy visit with a high school sweetheart) and "Ageless Beauty." Campbell and Millan get drunk on liquor and memories, but most important they stave off emptiness by creating a homemade valentine to youth and the idea of true love.
