Originally released overseas last year, Dungen's third album generated such a peculiar, addictive buzz that it and the band's previous two discs were issued in America this year on three separate labels. Ta Det Lugnt melds Swedish-language psychedelia, jazz, folk and progressive rock with such authenticity and authoritative force that the uninitiated could be fooled that they have stumbled onto some ridiculously obscure psych-rock 1971 mother lode. Leader Gustav Ejstes overdubs himself on a slew of instruments as if mountains of guitar fuzz, thunderous Keith Moon-like drum fills and freaky flute solos were his manifest destiny.
