The madness did not leave with ousted wildman bassist Nick Oliveri. Queens boss Josh Homme had more than enough of his own toxic-guitar psychoses to go around on Lullabies, a slight dip in consistency from 2002's Songs for the Deaf but frontloaded with a stunning run of zoom-metal highs. "Everybody Knows That You're Insane" was a probable kiss-off to Oliveri, but that's not why you should care: It's the way the song goes from slow burn to date-with-death velocity, with a chorus you can hum all the way to oblivion.
