So, we still haven't seen Superman and Clark Kent in the same room, but we have seen Green Day and their "nemesis" band the Network in the same building. The mysterious New Wavers -- who might have looked a lot like Green Day if not for the fact they were obscured by lighting and smoke -- opened for the punk kings at a special show at Los Angeles' Wiltern LG broadcast live on AOL Tuesday. Thus, while no one has yet proven that Green Day and the Network are one and the same, the drunk guy running the halls during Network's set shouting, "That's Green Day onstage!" seemed pretty damn certain . . .
Speaking of hot, World Wrestling Entertainment's official Babe of the Year Stacy Keibler was in Vegas for the opening of new nightclub/restaurant Tao, along with Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Usher. The actress/wrestler, famous for her forty-one-inch legs, said music is a big part of how she keeps in shape. "If I'm on the treadmill or running, it's dance music," said Keibler. Among her favorites: "I love Gwen Stefani, her music and her style. She doesn't care about anybody's opinion. And I love Kanye West's 'Gold Digger' song; every time I hear it I want to dance." Kanye's boasting chops were bound to earn him fans in the world of pro wrestling . . .
On the Jimmy Kimmel Live set, a very pregnant Brody Dalle confirmed that her band the punk four-piece the Distillers are no more. Waiting backstage during a live performance by her fiance, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Dalle shrugged, "All things come to an end." So what will the raven-haired singer do next? In her trademark high heels and a white dress that accentuated her belly, Dalle said she'll be focusing on motherhood: Her first child with Homme is due in January . . .
Finally, there was some musical schooling taking place on the set of writer/director Cameron Crowe's new film, Elizabethtown. Actress Jessica Biel says she turned Crowe on to some hip-hop, including Missy Elliott. Crowe admits that that's true, but adds, "I had to educate her as well. I got her into Led Zeppelin."
