Alanis Morissette is letting her audience have its say on her debut acoustic tour, which kicks off in Toronto Tuesday night. The singer-songwriter is encouraging fans to post their requests on alanismorissette.com, and she will incorporate them into her evolving set list.

"I want to increase the interactivity," she says. "What I love about acoustic shows is I'm actually able to have a dialogue of sorts."

The tour is a celebration of the tenth anniversary of Morissette's breakthrough, Jagged Little Pill. Her new acoustic version of the album, dubbed simply Jagged Little Pill Acoustic, will be sold exclusively through Starbucks cafes beginning June 13th before its July 26th wide release.

Morissette once again teamed with Pill producer Glen Ballard for the acoustic album for which they employed instruments ranging from the perapaloshka to the maracas to the pump organ and pianoforte. "Thankfully, there was a timelessness to those songs that kept me from cringing my way through reinterpreting them -- I would have walked away if that had been the case," Morissette says. "I'm finding that some of those same questions I was posing at that time are still here -- they've just deepened."

She has also begun an album of new material. "I have about seventeen songs ready to go," she says of the follow-up to last year's So-Called Chaos. "I don't know when I'll record it. Likely over the next year."
