Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will launch a North American summer tour on June 8th, in Fort Myers, Florida. The jaunt marks Petty's return after a two-year hiatus from the road.
Joining the legendary rocker on select dates will be the recently reunited Black Crowes, who kicked-off their first tour since October 2001 on Tuesday in New York City.
Among Petty's performances will be an appearance at the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, where the White Stripes, the Killers, Kid Rock and Joan Jet are also scheduled to play. Petty and the Heartbreakers' 1979 album Damn the Torpedoes was recently included in Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time.
