Months after her 2000 arrest, Us Weekly ran a story claiming that Houston's family and friends were attempting to get the singer help. Shortly thereafter, a seemingly healthy Houston performed at the Grammys, rocking the crowd with a stunning performance of her hit song "It's Not Right But It's Okay," which won her a Grammy for best female R&B vocal performance that evening.
Since then, Brown has kept the couple in the news, jailed multiple times in 2004 for violating probation and defaulting on child support payments stemming from a previous relationship. He was also charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly striking Houston last year.
Following her stint in drug rehabilitation last March, Houston has been working on her comeback album with longtime mentor and J Records head Clive Davis.
