Brooklyn Indie-rock outfit TV on the Radio beat out the Killers,
Loretta Lynn and Wilco to win this year's prestigious Short List
Music Prize, all on the merits of this album's adventurous blend of
psychedelic funk, electronic beats and skronky art rock. With the
notable exception of the immediately groovy "Staring at the Sun"
and "Dreams," Desperate Youth is more proof that sometimes
the best records are the most challenging.
