One day some time ago, Buffett noticed that his fans look like
country-music fans. He makes the most of that fact on
Chill, his first foray into the music, which features
guest spots by Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Clint
Black (with that bunch, it would be hard to make a bad country
album). Buffett approaches the genre with his typical
barefoot-on-the-beach vibe, and the laid-back shuffle of songs such
as the honky-tonk title track has earned him his first-ever Number
One album.
