Presley was halfway into his first recording session, with Sun Records' Phillips, when Presley pulled out "Big Boy" Crudup's 1946 blues obscurity "That's All Right," and the world changed. Recorded in a shockingly fast, lusty new style, the single was the place where race and hill-billy music collided and became rock & roll. Presley would cover two more Crudup tunes: Recalled Presley, "I said if I ever got to the place where I could feel all old Arthur felt, I'd be a music man like nobody ever saw."
