Slayer had a pair of records under their belt when the group was snatched up by producer Rick Rubin, who helped them record what remains their masterpiece, 1986's Reign in Blood. The album, a touchstone of Eighties speed metal, will get a video counterpart on September 28th with the release of Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning, a DVD to be filmed this Sunday.

Slayer will be at the Augusta (Maine) Civic Center on July 11th, in between stops for this summer's Ozzfest tour. The band plans to have ten cameras stationed around the venue to film the performance. Backstage footage and interviews will also be shot for the DVD. The show will also capture the reunited lineup that recorded Reign eighteen years ago. Drummer Dave Lombardo rejoined singer/bassist Tom Araya and guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman last year.

"Reign in Blood is our signature record and if people think that it helped set the path for that genre of music, that's great," Araya said. "It's a record that means a lot to all of us in the band."

Slayer begin Ozzfest with a July 10th stop in Hartford, Connecticut. The group has lined up headlining dates of its own on Ozzfest off days, with Slipknot, Hatebreed and Judas Priest sharing some of the bills.
