R. Kelly will release his first career-spanning compilation, The "R." in R&B Collection Volume 1, on September 9th. In addition to Kelly's hits, the none-too-humbly titled The "R." will include two new tracks, the single "Thoia-Thoing" and "Ghetto Religion," which features Wyclef Jean.

The "R." marks Kelly's tenth year as a solo recording artist. His solo career began with his departure from New Jack Swing ensemble Public Announcement and the 1993 release of 12 Play, which is represented by early hits like "Bump N' Grind" and "Your Body's Callin'." The compilation will run through Kelly's latest release, this year's Chocolate Factory, which restored the singer/producer's sales cred after The Best of Both Worlds, his collaboration with Jay-Z, tanked.

A limited-edition bonus CD featuring several previously unreleased remixes of Kelly's songs will be included in the first pressing of the compilation.

In addition to his own work, Kelly has been writing and producing for other artists, including the Isley Brothers, Baby of the Cash Money Millionaires, JS, and Jaheim.
