Erykah Badu will release her third studio album, Worldwide Underground, on September 16th on Motown Records. The album, which features guest appearances by Lenny Kravitz, Angie Stone and Queen Latifah, falls three years after her last set, Mama's Gun.

The first single, "Danger," which Badu co-wrote with R.C. Williams, has already made its way to radio. Kravitz guests on "Back in the Day," while Stone, Latifah and Bahmadia lend their vocals to a retooled cover of Sequence's early-Eighties neo-R&B standard "Funk You Up."

Badu claimed that upon the release of Mama's Gun she had enough material in the can for two additional albums, so some of the new material on Worldwide will sound familiar to fans who caught her on tours over the past two years.

In other Badu news, the singer will receive the Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards on August 23rd in Pasadena, California.
