Ryan Adams, Tweet, Willie Nelson, Natalie Imbruglia and Kris Kristofferson are among the musicians who will appear in the next round of Gap Ads for the fall season. The global marketing campaign groups newcomers and veterans to classic tunes with the tag line "For Every Generation."
There will be eight TV spots in all -- four for women and four for men -- and they begin airing on August 15th. Tweet, Marianne Faithfull and Taryn Manning cover the Staple Singers' "I'll Take You There"; Adams and Nelson team up for the Hank Williams standard "Move It On Over"; one-time Arrested Development member Baba Oje rollerskates and sings to the John Lee Hooker blues classic "Boom Boom"; the Wallflowers' Jakob Dylan performs an acoustic rendition of Elvis Costello's "What's So Funny ('Bout Peace, Love and Understanding)"; and models Shalom Harlow and Alek Wek's ad will be set to the American Breed's Sixties hit "Bend Me, Shape Me."
The commercials will also feature Lauren Hutton, Sissy Spacek, Wayne Gretzsky, Salma Hayek, Christian Slater and Bill Paxton.
Last year's Gap campaign featured Sheryl Crow, Robbie Robertson, Shaggy, Liz Phair, Dwight Yoakam and others singing Supertramp's "Give a Little Bit."
