David Byrne will drop his first album since 1997's Feelings on May 8th. Look Into the Eyeball will be released on Byrne's label Luaka Bop, via the label's new deal with Virgin.

"I had been wondering if there might be a way to include the warm, lyrical, beautiful, emotional sounds and associations of strings and orchestrated parts with groove music and beats for the body. I want to make people dance and cry at the same time," says Byrne of the new album on his Web site.

Byrne will premiere some of the new material from his fifth pop outing with his new band at the South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin on March 17th.
