Are former Uncle Tupelo partners Jeff Tweedy and Jay Farrar mending fences after their bitter split four years ago? | If the fact that Tweedy showed up at Wednesday night's Son Volt show at the Vic Theater in Chicago is any indication, they might be.

The life-long friends haven't really seen each other or worked together since Tupelo broke up back in 1994 following their only major label release, 1993's Anodyne on Sire/Reprise Records. A nasty dissolution followed a supporting tour, and each singer went on to form their own bands -- Farrar's Son Volt and Tweedy's Wilco.

During the show, Tweedy and his family watched Son Volt from the VIP balcony, which overlooks the stage. At one point, Farrar reportedly looked up toward his old partner before starting to sing "Back Into Your World," a track from Son Volt's current album, Straightaways. (AB)
