The Party of Five temptress recorded the original track
"How Do I Deal" for the sequel movie, which opens November 13
(Friday the 13th). The wholesome Neutrogena gal laid down the track
with veteran producers David Foster (Michael Jackson,
Michael Bolton) and Bruce Fairbairn (Bon Jovi,
Aerosmith), and shot the film-heavy music video last week
in Los Angeles.
"She really knocked this song out of the park," says soundtrack
supervisor John Houlihan. "We're hoping for the
same kind of synergistic thing that Will Smith had
with Men in Black."
Getting' jiggy with it long before Bailey entered the picture, Love
Hewitt spat out her first piece of bubble gum pop at age sixteen
with 1995's Let's Go Bang. Now, she'll hobnob with less
accessible artists on this soundtrack, which includes songs by drum
n' bass darlings Lamb, techno virtuoso CJ
Bolland and alt-metal rockers Orgy, who
remake a version of New Order's "Blue Monday." Los
Angeles folk rock troupe Grant Lee Buffalo also
contribute "Testimony" from their June release,
Jubilee.
Filled out by Mercury Record's pet project band
Swirl 360 and hyped newcomer Imogen
Heap, on paper I Still Know What You Did Last
Summer soundtrack pales in comparison to its 1997 predecessor,
which featured Type O Negative, L7 and
Korn, among others.
