Max Cavalera, former lead singer of the Brazilian death metal growlers Sepultura, has put together a new band and will release an album in spring of '98.|
The yet-to-be-named group is presently mixing the unnamed album
with Andy Wallace (Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, Rage Against
the Machine) in Manhattan's Soundtrack
Studios. There is "absolutely no involvement" of other
Sepultura members in Cavalera's new project," said Sophie
Diamantis, a spokeswoman for Cavalera. "Sepultura is their
own band and they're currently looking for a lead singer," she
said. (Isaac Josephson)
