Not counting her 1998 live album Spyboy, a second Trio collaboration with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, last year's Tucson Sessions duet album with Ronstadt, a Gram Parsons tribute album and too many guest appearances and charity benefits to keep count of, Emmylou Harris has kept a rather low profile in the five years since releasing her last studio solo album, the Grammy-winning Wrecking Ball. But the drought will soon be over for long-suffering fans of the silver-haired songbird. Harris' Red Dirt Girl, her Nonesuch Records debut, hits stores on Sept. 12. Six days later, she'll embark on a twenty-four-date theater tour, beginning with a three-night stand at New York's intimate Joe's Pub.

Following the completion of her solo tour, Harris will take a month off before joining Steve Earle, John Prine, Nanci Griffith , Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bruce Cockburn for a weeklong mini-tour benefiting the Campaign for a Landmine Free World charity.
