Angie Stone, Mary J. Blige and Destiny's Child were the big winners at the sixth annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, held this weekend in Santa Monica, Calif. The awards honor the top female performers in R&B, hip-hop and gospel music.
Destiny's Child took home two awards, for their single "Say My
Name" and for their album Writing's on the Wall. Newcomer
Angie Stone, who released her debut album Black Diamond in
September of last year, also took home two awards, including Best
New Artist. Seasoned diva Mary J. Blige matched them with two of
her own, including Album of the Year for Mary.
Sisqo and Pink
hosted the ceremony.
