Apparently, the Village People aren't macho enough men for Myrtle Beach, S.C.|

Burroughs & Chapin Co., a development firm in the South Carolina seaside town has vetoed a May 2nd beach party where the '70s disco superstars were scheduled to perform. The company, who owns a restaurant and entertainment complex in the vicinity of the party-to-be, says they don't want to be affiliated with the gay rights festival promoting the event, according to the Associated Press.

The act is being met with a negative response from festival organizers and gay rights organizations. "They're not just homophobic, they're aggressively homophobic," said Cathy Renna of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. (Isaac Josephson)
