(NEW YORK) - The Spice Girls "have decided that they don't want a new manager for the time being," a spokesman for Virgin Records U.K. said. |
The act will, for now, be represented by its lawyer, Andrew Thompson of Lee & Thompson. Label president Paul Conroy and GM Mark Hutton met with the group's members at Virgin's London headquarters last night to discuss the implications of the Girls' sacking of manager Simon Fuller of 19 Management.
For now, Virgin will provide an office for the band at its
Harrow Road base in west London. Also, the band is looking for a
new producer for its upcoming European tour. "They don't want to
use Fuller's choice," says the spokesman. Fuller is rumored to have
received a ú10 million ($17 million) severance package.
However, the Spice Girls and Virgin Records could not discuss the
terms of his departure.
