Just in case you're not sick of the Barenaked Ladies yet -- a long shot, we know -- Canada's most important export since potted meat food product will soon have its story told in the form of a documentary film directed by none other than Beverly Hills 90210 star Jason Priestley. |
Cynics might assume that Priestley was tabbed for the directorial gig because he's also a native of our nutty neighbor to the north -- after all, they do have those restrictive "Canadian content" rules -- but we're guessing that the key is his ability to double as hair-stylist on the set.
In any event, Priestley was hard at work filming the Ladies at
their recent Juno Awards appearance, which he'll no doubt weave
into the rich tapestry of success that has been the band's lot
these past nine years. No word on whether he was able to snag any
footage from the days when Alanis Morissette sang
backup for the Brothers Creeggan, but we can always hope.
There's been no decision made as to a title for the flick, nor have
plans for a soundtrack been finalized -- although on the latter
front, we'd suggest a simple, time-saving solution. Issue a
four-minute "Greatest Hit" CD and hope it's in stores before people
realize how annoying the whole thing really is.
