American Music Awards Honoring Sinatra

(LOS ANGELES) - "Chairman of the Board" Frank Sinatra is the 25th winner of the American Music Awards Award of Merit, to be presented Jan. 26.|

Sinatra's trophy inscription will read: "For more than half the 20th century, he has honored the writers, arrangers and musicians responsible for his carefully chosen, brilliantly crafted songs. He has honored the rest of the world with his incomparable music and talent."

Previous winners include Bing Crosby, Berry Gordy Jr., Irving Berlin, Ella Fitzgerald, Chuck Berry, Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, James Brown and Bill Graham.
