Cash Hospitalized Again

Country music icon Johnny Cash was hospitalized in Nashville on Sunday morning, February 11th. According to a spokesperson at the city's Baptist Hospital, the sixty-eight-year-old singer is in "serious but stable condition," but the singer's family has asked hospital officials not to disclose further details to the media.

Cash was treated for pneumonia in October, 1999, at the same hospital, spending twelve days in coma, while in 1998, he was hospitalized twice with the ailment. In 1997, he was mis-diagnosed with Shy-Drager's syndrome, which attacks the nervous system disease, but as recently as two months ago, the singer told reporters that his health was much improved.

Cash, an eight-time Grammy winner, is nominated for two awards this year.
