Redman will release his fifth solo album, Malpractice, on April 17th. The album will be his first since 1998's Doc's the Name, not counting his 1999 collaboration with Method Man, Blackout.
Once again, Redman has snared some high-profile names to help him in the operating room on his latest, which was originally slated for release last fall. But a complete list of collaborators for the album won't be made final until the Jersey rapper whittles down more than the twenty tracks he's recorded. The two guests confirmed for the album include his frequent partner in rhyme, Method Man, as well as Saukrates, a newcomer from Toronto who just signed to Def Jam.
Redman also visited Tallahassee, Florida to get his hero, George Clinton, to perform on "Jump Get Up," though the track has yet to be confirmed for Malpractice. The rapper was also hoping to work with longtime collaborator Keith Murray, with whom he also worked on Doc's the Name, but Murray's incarceration is currently keeping him from appearing.
In addition to manning the boards himself, Redman also turned to longtime production partner Erick Sermon for work on Malpractice.
