WHAT TO EXPECT:
Steven Tyler's
bout with pneumonia prevented Aerosmith from getting a new studio
album out in time for this amphitheater tour, but that just means
more room for rarities. "The set lists have been getting stale,"
says guitarist Joe Perry. "We've talked about doing an album
front-to-back — probably one of the first three records.
That's my next battle, to see if we can pull it off."
Also sweetening the deal for longtime Aerosmith fans this time
out, another formidable act with arena-sized riffs: ZZ Top. "That's
just amazing to be able to play with them because it's going to be
a kickass show," Perry says.
