Alen Blake Seattle
Age: 30
Describe your style:
I'm a filmmaker and I try and do things that reflect the things I
believe in. It's difficult to stay within a budget so I try to mix
things.
Favorite brands/shops:
Mario's in downtown Seattle, Barney's, Club Monaco. I do jeans and
a blazer a lot. I'm from Europe so I'm always leaning towards
European men's fashion.
Does music influence your style?
Right now I like a hip-hop artist named K-Os who's an eclectic
dresser. So I'll go into a store and choose a mix of things that
are very different.
Are you a big Talib fan?
Huge. He did a concert with Mos Def as Black Star last year and I
flew to Philly to see them.

Age: 24
Describe your style:
Upscale sporty.
Favorite brands/shops:
I love DKNY, Betsey Johnson, Nike, Puma. I like to shop at Forever
21, Macy's junior section, Winner's Circle on Pike. This is my
friend's hat. I believe my shirt is a Forever 21 or Wet Seal
purchase. My shoes are Nikes. I love red and gold so much.
Does music influence your style?
Definitely hip-hop.

Describe your style:
Ridiculous, out of control, cutting edge, fun and chic.
Favorite brands/shops:
My jacket's from Guess, and my jeans are from Guess. I'm a Guess
girl.
Does music influence your style?
There are certain artists that definitely influence me, like Gwen
Stefani and Kelis. They're pretty strong women.
Are you a big Talib fan?
Yes, I am. I've never seen him live so I'm pretty excited.

Adam Cretzer Seattle
Age: 22
Describe your style:
A little bit hip-hop, little bit street, little bit metrosexual.
That's what I get a lot -- about my earrings and the way I
dress.
Favorite brands/shops:
I like Diesel, but I make my own clothes. Our company is the House
of Epicurianism, and our line is called the Hoe Boys. We're a bunch
of entrepreneur artists, a lot of screenwriters, actors. I'm a
promoter.
Did you make anything you?re wearing?
Not right now. The easiest way to signify a Hoe boy is our
sea-green rag [in his back pocket].

Kylie Arnot Victoria, British Columbia
Age: 21
Describe your style:
A mix of new and old, a bit vintage, a bit mod. I like throwing
stuff together.
What are you wearing?
The boots are my friend's. The necklace I got on holiday in
Spokane. Lots of stuff from Nelson in Victoria, where I'm
from.
Does music influence your style?
A lot, right now I'm really into the mod scene. And I'm a huge
Talib Kweli fan.

Jeff Leonard Seattle
Age: 33
Describe your style:
I can't. There's no explanation for it, I just throw shit
together.
Favorite brands/shops:
Anywhere that's cheap. All this stuff is cheap: $19 pants, $5
shirt, $30 shoes. I got my hat at Bernie Utz. OK...$55. The watch?
Ross. $50. That's a good score. Bam. You can look good, but you can
be cheap about looking good. You can wear shitty pants and look
good by wearing a really expensive watch.
Does music influence your style?
No

Colin Lovell Seattle
Age: 27
Describe your style:
It doesn't cost too much.
Favorite brands/shops:
I'm a big fan of Threadless, and Diesel jeans. Buy one pair of
Diesel's and they'll last you all year. My jacket is Brooklyn
Industries.
Does music influence your style?
A little bit. I was just watching For Kicks, that
documentary about sneakers, and it made me think that when I get
kicks that I like maybe I should buy two pairs and shelve one.
These are Jump -- they're actually ladies shoes.
Are you a big Talib fan?
I am, I've heard him mostly with Mos Def.

Favorite brands/shops:
Fresh Eagle, Diesel, Rock and Republic, True Religion. My jacket
is Love Edition by Helly Hanson.
Does music influence your style?
It's everything. I live music, work music. Thirty-five years old,
and I'm still hip-hop.
