Metric Play Stripped-Down Set for Rolling Stone

Singer Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw, half of Canadian electropop foursome Metric, dropped by Rolling Stone's Times Square studio to play a bare-bones set of songs off their sophomore album, 2005's Live It Out. Shedding their club-friendly sound to go acoustic, Haines and Shaw -- both also members of Toronto outfit Broken Social Scene -- channeled mellow moods on the album's haunting title track and offer up a powerful cover of late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith's tune "Between the Bars."
