A release date hasn't yet been announced for SNOOP DOGG's first solo LP in two years, but the album -- "Blue Carpet Treatment" -- already promises an impressive roster of guests, including STEVIE WONDER, R. KELLY, TIMBALAND, JANET JACKSON, WARREN G and PHARRELL WILLIAMS. The rapper says he's worked on the project for nine months, and that in addition to the album, there will be animated and live films, the latter of which is aimed at the ladies and is called "A Woman's Touch." As Snoop told Billboard, he's "coming from the heart" rather than the mind this time around.
The Who Reconfigure Their Classic "Live at Leeds" Album for Tour Kickoff
Quite possibly the greatest live college-campus recording ever released, THE WHO's Live at Leeds was honored by the band Saturday with a performance at the same venue to kick off a European tour. Thousands of fans waited overnight for 2,100 available tickets and were awarded with performances of "I Can't Explain," "Substitute" and new songs such as the mini-rock-opera "Wire and Glass."
Ricky Skaggs' Tour Bus Kills Man on Ride Back From Bonnaroo
Tragedy struck an otherwise successful Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Friday, when RICKY SKAGGS's tour bus hit and killed a man about a mile from the festival's Interstate 24 exit. Melissa McDonald, a spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Safety, said the man ran onto the highway after appearing to jump over a fence. The fatal accident is still under investigation, but reports indicate no alcohol use by Skaggs' driver or the victim, whose name remains unreleased.
Elvis' Belt and Lennon Interview Tapes Fetch More Than $100,000 in NYC Auction
Oh sure, $66,000 may sound like a lot for a belt, but we're talking a gut-hugging accessory of ELVIS PRESLEY here, as worn during a 1972 Honolulu performance. L.A. auction house Julien's Auctions says the piece went to an art dealer from Bombay for more than six times its estimated worth Saturday, while interview tapes of JOHN LENNON pulled in $60,000 and 267 other items brought the New York event's total to $655,000 including a 20 percent auction commission.
U2, Antony, Rufus Wainwright and More Contribute to Leonard Cohen Soundtrack
An impressive array of artists have assembled for the soundtrack to the new LEONARD COHEN documentary, I'm Your Man, including U2, RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, BETH ORTON, ANTONY and JARVIS COCKER. Most of the performances were captured live during Cohen tribute concerts in England and Sydney, although U2's collaboration with the living legend, "Tower of Songs," was recorded in the small New York City club Slipper Room. The film opens July 14th, while its soundtrack is expected July 25 through Verve Forecast.

The gigs are sandwiched between this weekend's Bonnaroo Festival and CYHSY's upcoming European jaunt, kicking off June 29th at Denmark's Roskilde Festival and wrapping August 27th at the Leeds (UK) Festival. The Brooklyn indie kids will be back in the States to play Central Park on September 28th.

The group will hit the European festival circuit this summer before returning to Stockholm in October to begin recording their sophomore effort.
