Christina Releasing Back-to-Back "Basics"

CHRISTINA AGUILERA's next album, Back to Basics, will now be a two-disc set, with Disc One focusing on more urban cuts and Disc Two focusing more on her collaborations with producer-songwriter LINDA PERRY. The first single, "Ain't No Other Man," which Aguilera debuted live this past Saturday at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, is currently available for download on iTunes. The double album hits stores August 15th.

Raconteurs Keep on Rambling

The RACONTEURS have added ten North American dates for a late summer itinerary. Beginning September 14th in Houston, the run in support of their debut, Broken Boy Soldier, will hit up other venues in Texas, Florida, Georgia and along the East Coast, with tickets going on sale through Ticketmaster on Friday. This Thursday, the garage rockers will play two Amoeba Music in-store performances -- one in the morning in Hollywood, California, and an evening show in San Francisco. Next month, the Raconteurs will tour the West Coast, heading to the Midwest in August following their stop on the 4th at Chicago's Lollapalooza.

"Ta-Dah": It's the Scissor Sisters!

SCISSOR SISTERS will release their sophomore album, Ta-Dah, on September 26th. The ELTON JOHN collaboration "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'," which takes off where the dance pop outfit's hit "Take Your Mama" left off, will be the first single from the album. Last week Rolling Stone got a taste of nine of the album's twelve tracks: In addition to "PAUL McCARTNEY," inspired by a dream about the former BEATLE, new tunes include the dreamy banjo love song "Just Might Tell You Tonight," the mellow rocker "Land of a Thousand Words" and the funk-ified "Lights."

Method Man, Rhymefest Make Summer Plans

Veteran WU-TANG member METHOD MAN will release a new solo rap album, 4:21, later this summer. The follow-up to 2005's Street Education boasts production from DR. DRE and guests FAT JOE, STYLES P and LAURYN HILL, who sings on the album's lead single, "Say" . . . KANYE WEST collaborator and fellow Chicago rapper RHYMEFEST will play a handful of shows in New York, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago this summer in support of his debut, Blue Collar, out July 11th . . . JURASSIC 5 kick off a thirty-four-date tour on July 18th, a week before their new album Feedback hits stores. The first single, "Work It Out," features a collaboration with DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, with whom the hip-hoppers have toured in the past.

Eminem Wins Ring Tone Suit

EMINEM and his publishing company settled a lawsuit with one of five companies the rapper accused of illegally selling his songs as cellphone ring tones. The Colorado-based Cellus US reached an undisclosed settlement last week with Eminem's camp, but the negotiation's details have not been disclosed.

DMX Needs a Dose of Driver's Ed

DMX was pulled over by the police (again) on Friday in White Plains, New York, for reckless driving and speeding. The rapper was said to be driving at "unreasonable speeds" and making unsafe lane changes, as well as allegedly not carrying a driver's license. DMX, who was ticketed, will have to return to court on June 16th to face the violation. Last year, the rapper, 35, served seventy days in prison for posing as a federal agent and crashing his car through a security gate at JFK Airport. DMX will release a new album, Year of the Dog, Again, on August 1st.

Meat Loaf Wants to TM "Bat Out of Hell"

Beefy arena-rock singer (and sometime actor) MEAT LOAF has sold more than forty-eight million copies of his 1977 sophomore album, Bat Out of Hell, and the album's 1993 sequel, Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell. Now, he feels like he deserves the rights to the album's title. Meat Loaf (real name Michael Aday) has filed a lawsuit claiming that his name should be the only name associated with the phrase and music. In the suit, he seeks more than $50 million in damages from the song's original scribe JIM STEINMAN and his own manager DAVID SONENBERG, who he says have been disrupting the release of the third Bat Out of Hell album, due this year.
