The fiercely independent songstress will make stops in thirty-five U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, New York, Atlanta and Pittsburgh, before closing August 10th in Cleveland. Damien Rice will join Apple for the majority of dates, and singer-songwriter David Garza will open the entire tour. Before kicking off the outing, Apple will perform two Florida shows in early May, followed by a quick stop in South Carolina on May 9th.
Apple will be touring behind 2005's Extraordinary Machine, which debuted at Number Seven on the charts, the singer's best showing to date. The album, years in the making, has now sold just shy of half a million copies.
"I'm a lot calmer about everything," Apple, who has always been frank about her embattled relationship to fame, said in December of her return to the stage. "Touring seems easier than it used to be. I think it's because -- and this is going to sound bad -- but I don't care as much. Success isn't going to make or break me."
