New Beatles Recordings to Hit This Summer

An album of previously unheard BEATLES recordings will be released this summer, thirty-six years after the band's breakup. The project will be supervised by PAUL McCARTNEY and RINGO STARR, with the release slated to coincide with a Las Vegas Beatles-themed Cirque de Soleil show. The circus, renowned for their creative acrobatics and set designs, have had unprecedented access to the heavily guarded Beatles catalog, and the show will feature music from the upcoming release. McCartney and Starr -- along with JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO and GEORGE HARRISON's widow OLIVIA -- are collaborating on the production, which will replace SIEGFRIED AND ROY's longstanding act at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.

Spoon Ready Some More Fiction

Austin indie rockers SPOON are hard at work on their as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2005's Gimme Fiction in drummer JIM ENO's home studio. The group hopes to road-test the new material this summer, and release the record in early 2007. Meanwhile, frontman BRITT DANIEL is also at work on a solo record, which he plans to complete by year's end. Daniel recently contributed a song, "They Make Paintings," to a movie musical that also features music by SLEATER-KINNEY, the SHINS and NEW PORNOGRAPHERS.

Elton John Sells Clothes for Charity

Beginning Tuesday, ELTON JOHN and his partner DAVID FURNISH will auction off items from both their wardrobes to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation charity. The five-day sale, held at New York's Rockefeller Center, will feature some 10,000 pieces collected over the past fifteen years. In addition to clothing designed by GUCCI, VERSACE and JEAN PAUL GAULTIER, the auction will also include the yellow and pink polka-dot RICHARD JAMES suit the pianist sported during his 2001 Grammy performance with EMINEM.

Madonna Tour Tix Selling Like Hot Cakes

MADONNA's upcoming Confessions summer tour, her first in two years, has already sold out a host of dates -- including seven nights in London; four in Paris and New York; two in Amsterdam, Montreal, Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago; and single dates in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Phoenix and San Jose. The Material Girl's 2004 Re-Invention tour drew nearly a million attendees and grossed $125 million

Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" took home both Female and Breakthrough Video, while Urban's "Better Days" won Video of the Year. Other winners included KENNY CHESNEY (Male Video, "Who You'd Be Today"), BRAD PAISLEY and DOLLY PARTON (Most Inspiring Video, "When I Get Where I'm Going"), BON JOVI and JENNIFER NETTLES (Collaborative Video, "Who Says You Can't Go Home"), and RASCAL FLATTS (Group/Duo Video, "Skin"). In a special tribute to BUCK OWENS, DWIGHT YOAKAM performed "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail," and HANK WILLIAMS JR. was on hand to receive the Johnny Cash Visionary Award from presenters KID ROCK and GRETCHEN WILSON. Performers at the ceremony included Wilson, Underwood, Urban, Chesney, FAITH HILL, TRACE ADKINS, BROOKS AND DUNN, TOBY KEITH, RASCAL FLATTS and SUGARLAND.

J.Lo Slaps Ex-Husband With Suit

JENNIFER LOPEZ filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Ojani Noa, on Monday in Los Angeles. The singer and actress claims that Noa -- whom she married in 1997 and divorced a year later -- violated a confidentiality agreement the two reached last year by distributing manuscripts of a book to publishers that contains intimate details of their relationship. Their agreement forbids Noa from profiting from the disclosure of personal details about Lopez. Now, Lopez alleges, Noa has demanded $5 million to cease marketing his book. She is seeking a restraining order to keep the book from becoming public.
