On Wednesday, Belgian and Swiss police attempted to shut down eDonkey, a worldwide file-swapping network with an estimated three million users. Authorities seized the site's Razorback2 servers from a center outside Brussels and arrested the site's operator at his home in Switzerland. eDonkey worked much like Napster in its earliest form, facilitating illegal file transfers for an estimated 1.3 million users around the world at any given time. The order restrains Red Light District, which also distributed PARIS HILTON's infamous sex tape, from selling the video or using Kid Rock's likeness in its promotions. Lawyers for Rock, 35, contend the tape violates their client's trademark and privacy rights. A hearing has been set for Friday.
