"That picture is interesting because I look at it now and realize she's underlit, which is not nice lighting. Lit from below. As far as I was concerned, she was lucky she was lit in those days because I didn't even know how to light. I just threw a light on. We were trying to light up the picture so it would survive the printing process on rag paper."
