4/7/09, 12:30 pm EST

The Vermont state legislature has just mustered the votes to override a gubernatorial veto, making it the first state to legislatively enact gay marriage, and making civil unions obsolete.

It is a good day in Vermont and I am proud to live here.

Conservatives are now biting their tongues about States’ rights. This is a classic example of being careful of what you ask for. All I can say, it’s about time we get past this no-brainer of a political issue.

JP, I couldn’t agree more. States’ rights are going to overturn emissions standards, leading to more renewable forms of energy. States’ rights are going to legalize marijuana, and same-sex marriage. And, states’ rights may start taxing the churches. Which means that the Republicans will probably change their message to ‘more federal power’!!!

You folks are conflating a political party and a political philosophy. Allow me to draw a distinction for you. Conservative political philosophy is opposed to a strong central authority. Conservative political philosophy recognizes that a great many problems can be solved through local leadership. The GOP, on the other hand, has repeatedly put up candidates that have empowered the Federal government starting with Lincoln. At times this party advocates, and even acts to protect in some limited degree, conservative values – despite the general trend of centralization of authority. As a result, many self-identifying conservatives tend to vote Republican. Other conservatives, like myself, tend not to vote Republican. I agree that current trends will be a test for the GOP. Many Republicans are going to realize that they are not really true conservatives when forced to swallow the bitter pills of gay marriage and/or legalization of pot. On the other hand, those of us real conservatives are delighted to see a reinvigorates states’ rights movement underway. Please be aware of the distinction.

The problem with political parties and political idealogies is that it has became too intertwined. Most people no longer have a conservative or liberal stance on a issue. They are either a liberal or a conservative. They have formed tribes. Political parties have capitalized on that to turn out votes for their candidates.

I agree with you. There is a difference between idealogy and political party. I just wish more people see it and abide with it.

Terrorists usually fail to recognize themselves as such, they justify their actions as ‘business as usual’ or ’struggle for freedom’ or ‘defending the religion’, but in the end, when you diverge from the path of the true seekers of peace, what you allow yourself to succumb to is hatred and terrorist endeavors.

Anonymous | 4/24/2009, 10:30 am EST

BTW-if you think that it is violent to knock down your communications systems and would be willing to treat me as a ‘terrorist’, why are you not willing to hold the terrorists that just collapsed the global economic system to the same standards?

Anonymous | 4/24/2009, 10:31 am EST

You are deceivers of the worst kind, because you deceive yourselves, you do not hold yourselves up to the same or higher standards you would hold others to, that makes you hypocrites.
So at what point do you recognize you are not a Christian nation, but rather beholden to Christs nemesis? At what point do you work to change that and remove they that don’t hold to your values from power rather than excusing or blaming one side or the other and doing nothing in the end to truly enact a resolution?

So I ask again, would I not be justified in my actions against an enemy that repeatedly has shown it’s disdain for all things global?

Anonymous | 4/24/2009, 10:32 am EST

And given your past actions abroad, it should be very clear that YOU are the terrorists, but rather than recognizing and changing it, you seek to excuse and justify prior actions even though you took no part in them. That tells me and the rest of the world that you don’t hold true to the values and ideals you say you subscribe to, that makes you deceitful in that your constitution and declaration of independence are mere illusions designed to deceive the internal population and foreign allies.

I guess my point is…
If the founding father’s recognized that the rights they sought to protect with the constitution and exposed in the Declaration are truly provided to each and every human by our creator, who the Fukk gave you the authority of God to take them away from anyone as you see fit?

It is the refuge of a scoundrel to hide behind ill designed ‘tests and measures’ that have no well established parameters that could be relied upon as an indicator of the test being performed. As such it is merely subterfuge; much like what Formad used to lead it’s nation to war, merely to feed war profiteers like Cheney’s KBR and Blackwater. In other words, the tactics of an evil that feels a need, nay, a compulsion to cheat to be successful.

Now, perhaps you can tell me the best way to use military means to resolve the swine flu issue that is beginning to develop. Was this ‘peculiar’ flu that has components of human, swine and bird diseases merely an engineered product of unregulated genetic engineering?

Guess whom the source of all the tensions are? The TITANS are ready to cut down the tree of life if not given their way. Are you willing to give them a free voice? go into the good night without even a whimper?

They don’t even take conscience of what they do with that HAARP.
Big Hot egg over Texas? yet this bird knows why.
Will the birds clean up the bees and their ho.rsemen? C’mon, Baaam!! A little pepper on it.

Careful, dead ant, the Ents may just throw rocks at you.

Seems operation Valkyrie is in effect, who sits on Brownie’s chair waiting for an excuse to take control?

Talk to you guys later if possible, gotta clean up some worms and keyboard blocks that make things difficult.

Now he sits with generals and their masters, just like witches at black ma$$es, evil minds that plot destruction, sorcerers of death’s construction.
But like Cain did to Able, it was himself he killed, will he do it again and again, bringing misery upon his own house?

Fortunate son of a fortunate son of a fortunate son, man that’s one lucky son of a gun, it’s all in how you take stock. Went back for more just to have another chance to be a wild horse and be put in the position of a Manchurian candidate, as soon as he was threatened became a turncoat.
