He stole that title from my book…

“The Audacity to Spin”

CCo...ISP | 12/5/2008, 2:54 pm EST

Well, I’m looking forward to using “audacity” in every (even inappropriate) context. Maybe, We, Can!…

CCo...ISP | 12/5/2008, 3:05 pm EST

Reclusive? Seems like I got about 3 emails a day from that guy during the campaign. I guess that doesn’t always translate into media availability.

jeffery mcnary | 12/5/2008, 6:26 pm EST

‘the cadillac sanction’ would be a better title. this guy and axelrod are like the chess brothers…lol. what the latter did for muddy waters, etta james, etc, those guys did for obama and deval patrick!! where’s donna brazille?…lol.

There is a time for “Change” and a time for CASH, this is the time for CASH

TinFoilHat | 12/6/2008, 8:32 pm EST

CCo,

Oh, contraire mon frair. The real ’sin’ of the left on this one is NOT adopting deceptive tactics to compete with those on the right. Like the phone campaign using Obama’s quote. Obama in fact does NOT support prop 8, yet the pro-8 campaign implied that he did. This is the kind of deceptive campaigning that I am referring to.

CCo...ISP | 12/7/2008, 1:20 am EST

That the second post wasn’t me. Someone stole my handle.

P.S. (I’ll address your comment anyway) If you don’t think Democrats are as deceptive as Republicans, you vastly underestimate the nature of politics… or your a leftist zombie (my vote = both).

D&C | 12/7/2008, 12:24 pm EST

Looks like New Orleans kept the concept of “Change” going on Saturday.

Meltdown | 12/7/2008, 2:07 pm EST

CCo…Nobody is saying the Democrats are without fault. But, why is it that conservatives/republicans always resort to: “If you don’t think Democrats are as deceptive as Republicans, you…”

Politicians/lawyers /attorneys live in a world of deception. It’s the DEGREES of deception that distinguish the two parties. The problem us ‘liberals’ have with the conservatives is that they are frauds. They run in a party that lays claim to national security, family values, and small government.
Well, lying to invade a country doesn’t help national security. Family values is a joke (as if there’s an actual definition of such?). And small government? Well, they tossed that out the window with the invention of Homeland Security.

But, I’m sure you can blame homeland security on the Democrats. Likewise with the lies about Iraq. You probably also blame 9/11 on the Democrats. In fact, isn’t the economy Obama’s fault?

TinFoilHat | 12/7/2008, 6:50 pm EST

If the left were as deceptive as the right in today’s politics, we wouldn’t be surviving eight years of Republican misrule. Show me an instance of the deceptive left and I’ll point out the propaganda value of your source.

Who is the Svengali of the left? Do you think they have anyone who is as masterful at deception as Karl Rove, or Lee Atwater? I think not. Left wing philosophy inherently prohibits this kind of intellectual dishonesty.

TinFoilHat | 12/7/2008, 8:37 pm EST

McHardly,
Without brilliant musical talent and originality, no amount of management or recording expertise could have made a star out of Waters or James. The product was there. It was the Chess Brothers who lucked out in that deal.

“Who is the Svengali of the left? Do you think they have anyone who is as masterful at deception as Karl Rove, or Lee Atwater? I think not. Left wing philosophy inherently prohibits this kind of intellectual dishonesty.”

Tin, you are wasting you time on this board, writing crap like the above is really something Hollywood, and Rosie O’Donnell personally would pay. I doubled over in laughter when I saw it.

I can name three
First, James Carville (Ability to prevent Bill’s Bimbo eruptions is legend)
Second, Mao Zedong (Its a short walk, trust me)
Third, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (Give my ideas a few years and I will dissolve government)

TinFoilHat | 12/8/2008, 8:01 am EST

D&C,
No, It’s you who should be writing for the Cobert Report. Carville? HA! I was expecting Axelrod. Neither one has even begun to touch the depths of deception of a Rove. As far as Mao and Lenin? If you really think we’re headed there you are seriously deluded. The same kind of delusion that labeled Obama a Marxist. You are (and will remain) free to indulge in whatever stupidity you want, but please give everyone else a big fat break.

D&C | 12/8/2008, 9:39 pm EST

TinFoil AGAIN, you just don’t pay attention.

You said “Left wing philosophy inherently prohibits this kind of intellectual dishonesty” I gave you examples of Left winger leaders why lied to their people, including murdering them.

Did I compare Obama to Lenin or Mao? NO, but nice attempt to divert when you have been caught.

TinFoilHat | 12/8/2008, 9:41 pm EST

Been caught? You are hillarious! I never said that all liberals were completely honest people. It’s just a matter of degree, that’s all.

TinFoilHat | 12/8/2008, 9:48 pm EST

“Did I compare Obama to Lenin or Mao?”

No, you compared Carville to Lenin and Mao. And I compared that to the staple of the last part of McCain’s campaign. A phrase I still hear right-wingers repeating to this day.

TinFoilHat | 12/8/2008, 9:51 pm EST

BTW,
Carville is really centrist. He represents the right wing of the Democratic party.

Jed Clampett

What he is doing, without any real justification, is to equate left leaning leadership in other nations and other times with the left leaning leadership of this country and this period of time. Invalid comparisons at best, hypocritical dissembling at it’s core.
Were they not trying to slander leftist leadership by equating it to the leadership of other nations and times, they would also accept the comparison and contrast of this current extreme right wing leadership with the leadership of Nazi Germany or Franco or even Pinochet.
Honesty of political conviction would dictate that those actions that seem deplorable in your contenders should be 10 times worse coming from your own camp, yet these guys seems to think that everyone else should play by a particular set of rules while they get to move the goal posts anytime they want, ignore the rules and abuse the rulebook in order to discredit a contender. Typical dishonest, unreasonable, evil intentions pushing incomprehensible acts.

Peace

How did being a liberal progressive become mutually inclusive with Leftist ideologies? Is there no ’space’ between Social Security and Communism? No distinction? Is it all black and white? Methinks no.
