McCain’s Grand Speech

Lord knows I’ve been a critic of John McCain, but that concession speech was all class.

Except the parts where his supporters booed.

I would like to generalize of Kristy’s observation. This may be the bias of my own perception, but it struck me that the general level of civility at Democrat gatherings was significantly higher than among the Republicans. I also noticed that some of the voter turnout surveys observed that it was the Republicans who failed to vote because, in the words of one report, “they were too discouraged.” We thus see the motto of today’s Republican party, “I believe in democracy, as long as I get things done my way!”

Nevertheless, McCain’s speech WAS class, primarily because it was all civility. I am even willing to grant that it was sincere. With nothing to lose, he knew he could tell his handlers where to go; and I assume he did just that! The irony is that those may have been the closest to “words from the heart” that we experienced in the entire campaign!

Shut up Kristy you rube..I’m guessing no Obama supporter has never booed before…

of course obama supporters have booed. there are, however, times when booing is simply downright tasteless. the election was lost, there was no changing that. regardless of where their votes had gone, obama won the election. ironically, the type of person that would boo at one of these events is most likely a “love it or leave it” type of redneck nationalist. well… now it’s their turn.

John MCain was classy for once. Can’t say much for Sarah Palin though.

McCain is not a BAD man. His record is studded with positive achievements.

But when he became the GOP candidate for Prez, it was necessary to turn to the Dark Side of the GOP Force.

Hmm,

As I was watching MCP SLOWLY absorb my comments, I was struck by a Google ad nearby, now gone, that asserted that “John McCain’s IQ is 130, are you smarkter than John McCain?”

Wow, 130. I think they might have slipped up and added Johnny Boys IQ AND Sarah Palins to reach the 130 mark. Youthink?

TinFoilHat | 11/6/2008, 8:22 pm EST

DD,
I usually score around 130 myself. Not in the genius range I’m sorry to say. If you want to know (which you may not) there are only about a million free IQ tests available on-line.
