Jed Clampett

It was purely accidental. We’ve been living under a rock for the last year or so where this has been an issue. Furthermore a b looks alot like an s and the keys on a keyboard are four rows and three fingers appart, so we understand how the ‘mistake’ could have been made. I’d like you to meet my wife… Morgan Fairchild… whom I’ve seen naked.

PRICELESS

Peace

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 3:11 pm EST

‘We have three different staff members who proof these things and somehow the typo got by us.’

Are they all republicans by chance?

Sallad | 10/10/2008, 4:13 pm EST

Yeah, that’s a pretty glaring typo for three different people to miss.

david | 10/10/2008, 4:34 pm EST

Wow.

Democrats don’t make stupid mistakes like that, so this MUST be another republican “error.”

What next? Hanging chads? LOL!

Somewhere In The Middle | 10/10/2008, 5:09 pm EST

David is right, Democrats don’t make mistakes like that. I just got my Homeowner’s Exemption at the County building here in Chicago, where you know all the employees are stark raving Republicans and they incorrectly gave my exemption to the wrong PIN number, necessitating another trip later in the day to correct it. If only they had Democrats working at the County building and City Hall, these types of errors wouldn’t happen.

Sallad | 10/10/2008, 6:02 pm EST

Midman –

You probably did get help from one of the Republicans. What does it take to be a Republican in today’s world? You either need to be completely crooked or totally ignorant. I still have a little bit of hope left for the Dems, very little though…

Tajed Clempt | 10/10/2008, 6:04 pm EST

I think what makes it so funny is that he is a Muslim. If he had been a Christian or a Hindu or a Zoroastianist, this wouldn’t be nearly as ironic – but Barack Obama is a Muslim.

Tajed Clempt | 10/10/2008, 6:21 pm EST

Bout time we called a spade a spade.

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 9:03 pm EST

Tajed,
Congratulations, not only have you pegged yourself as a Muslim biggot, but a racist too! Two for one!

By the way, for anyone who might not have heard:

OBAMA IS NOT A MUSLIM
(not that there’s anything wrong with that).

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 9:05 pm EST

Republicans are known for putting incompetent people into federal positions. You know, like at the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT?

Tajed Clempt | 10/10/2008, 10:20 pm EST

I am not a bigot I just don’t think this country should have a Muslim for its Presidential office. By the way, if you don’t think there’s anything wrong with being a Muslim than why are you so detrumined to convince evryone that Barack Hussein Osama isn’t Muslim?

Anonymous | 10/10/2008, 10:30 pm EST

Jed Clampett

Here’s how anti-American the republican party is. In their zeal to try to cheat themselves into the last election by any means necessary, they pushed the specter of the big bad Latin-American stealing jobs, etc. What they achieved was that the morons that listen to anything they push at them via the oxycontin king(rush limbought) have started menacing Hispanics in the redneck states, by relaxing FCC regulations, they can now spread the message via ‘clearchannel’ to all their goons at once.
Why is it that they have to bring the nation to near revolution in order to divide us?
Because they know that they can’t win without cheating… and if they loose, they are quite willing to destroy the economy or worse.
The party should be given the death penalty, and the NSA wire taps in the main communication trunks should have all the evidence the next administration needs to prove it to the american people. Including the emails from rove and others that avoided the presidential documents law by using the RNC mail servers.

Peace

Tajed Clempt | 10/10/2008, 10:33 pm EST

Sounds like some ones been listenning to too much NPR or is bought by the Democratist Party. I never met a big bad latin-american, but I’ve met a whole lot of little ones. And I don’t believe that crap about Morgan Fairchild neether.

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 10:39 pm EST

Taj,

“detrumined [sic] to convince evryone that Barack Hussein Osama isn’t Muslim?”

I am a stickler for the truth.

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 10:42 pm EST

And you get your news from what? Drudge? Fox News? What’s your ‘reliable source’ Taj. Please tell us so that we can have a laugh.

david | 10/10/2008, 10:45 pm EST

…well, Tajed, if your research is as good as your spelling, you have very little credibility.

If you search the internet for Mr. Obama, you will find that he was brought up … and still is … Christian.

Quit speaking if you don’t know. You sound like just another bushbot.

Anonymous | 10/10/2008, 11:17 pm EST

Why isn’t Tim reporting about Acorn and their 2,000 fake absentee’s in just 1 office?

Mario Kart | 10/10/2008, 11:27 pm EST

Barack is Jesus, you are correct

& I can see Jesus from my house near Russia

BurnDaddy | 10/10/2008, 11:33 pm EST

Taj,

I’ll take a Muslim president over a senile, vacillant, ignorant, petulant, liar any day.

You sound like a Wildman to me.

Felonious Skunk | 10/10/2008, 11:36 pm EST

“Why isn’t Tim reporting about Acorn and their 2,000 fake absentee’s in just 1 office?”

How do you know those weren’t filled out and submitted by a bunch of Cons?

Funky Music Playin' White Boy | 10/10/2008, 11:40 pm EST

Mario-

You need a new shtick, man.

TinFoilHat | 10/10/2008, 11:43 pm EST

Anon, Skunk,
Because its a proven non-issue. Attorney Generals in battleground states investigated the hell out the issue after the 2000 and 2004 elections, they couldn’t bring a single prosecution. For that, they were fired. Though it is clear that there were many falsified ballots in that office, the street people they enlisted were compensated per ballot. There is no evidence (and it is unlikely) that anyone has or will vote using these false identities.

Compare that to the Republicans calculated (and illegal) caging techniques and ownership of the proprietary and hackable voting machine industry.

Try to open your mind. Google the name Stephen Spoonamore (who happens to be a republican electronic voting expert).

BurnDaddy | 10/10/2008, 11:52 pm EST

Hat,
I heard Spoonamore on Air America. Smart guy with a lot of expertise in that field. The things he said not only made me mad as hell, but also got me wondering how we could allow such a thing (privately owned voting machines) to happen. At the very least the government should purchase their own machines and make the code available to all. Needless to say I’ll be using a paper ballot in Nov.

Felonious Skunk | 10/11/2008, 12:00 am EST

Tinman.

I wasn’t saying that it was going to matter, just that those ballots could have been filled out by anyone. But I agree with you. Why would the Cons go through that much trouble when they have far more efficient means of achieving the same goal?

Anonymous | 10/11/2008, 1:22 am EST

Jed Clampett

The cons enjoy using their money to infiltrate those institutions that would oppose them and then undermine them, much like they are doing the country.

Remember a couple of elections back when the republicans mounted a campaign to robo-call the offices of democratic get-out-the-vote offices in order to keep them from helping the elderly get to polling places. The guys responsible were republicants and they were convicted.

Here in Texas they have found republican operatives acting like democratic activists registering people to vote and then throwing away the registration cards.

For several years now we have known about the voting machines and how easy they are to hack and tamper with. Being an electronics engineer, I know how easy it would be to secure the systems, as well as provide a printed back up, yet the companies decided to make the systems with no way to recount the votes manually if necessary. If your voting place has the option of putting in a paper ballot, do so.

This election will be worse than in 2004, where one OHIO county tallied 4000 votes for bush even though they only had 600 or so registered voters.

In Florida, republican operatives were videotaped throwing away the receipt rolls of the election, in contravention of election law.

Time and again republicants work in contravention of laws and common decency in order to keep themselves in positions of power so they can maintain their access to the treasury.
Meanwhile, the weak of mind and spirit who are easily mislead keep supporting them, even though they don’t make over a quarter of a million dollars, somehow they have been convinced (probably by fox) the republicants will have any type of concern for their welfare.

Wake up America, the republicants will rather cause divisiveness to polarize you and ignore the environment. They profess to be good Christians, yet disdain the poor and downtrodden. Divide and conquer is their motto and many are easily deceived into helping them. These guys are susceptible to being overcome by the dark side, so to speak, were they are willing to destroy their nation and even the planet because they are selfish.
Reminiscent of Nero playing the violin while Rome burns… they just don’t care. Totally insane.

Peace

TinFoilHat | 10/11/2008, 1:36 am EST

Jed,

I think they just look at it differently than we do. We are concerned about the country and its policies. They are concerned with the giant multi-national corporations.

Giant multi-national corporations couldn’t care less about America anymore. We are just one more plump melon to squeeze all the juice out of. If the US goes down the tube, they’ll still be alright. With new markets world-wide they have no reason to be loyal any more.

Tajed Clempt | 10/11/2008, 10:14 am EST

Barack Osama talks about his Muslim Hertiage in his books, particularly “Allah Way to the White House.”

TinFoilHat | 10/11/2008, 12:09 pm EST

Taj,
So you know how to read? Try not to get the words mixed up.

Joanne Boatright | 10/11/2008, 12:43 pm EST

Excuse me for butting in – I know I’ve been gone for a while, but kudos to those who do their homework and can actually spell, i.e. TinFoilHat, Jed Clampett, Anonymous and Salad.
And (excuse me again) but does not “Tajed” sound like a Muslim name to you? (not that there’s anything wrong with that)!

TinFoilHat | 10/11/2008, 1:09 pm EST

Joanne,
Butt at will. I’m not sure, but I think Taj devised his name as a play off the name Jed Clampet.

Joanne Boatright | 10/11/2008, 1:38 pm EST

TinFoilHat, I know, but it sounds good & Muslim, doesn’t it? Maybe he’ll think twice next time he picks a pseudonym.

Joanne Boatright | 10/11/2008, 1:48 pm EST

And to Jed – I feel for you. I didn’t know you lived in Texas until today (like I said, I’ve been gone for a while). But I live in Bakersfield, CA, which is like a microcosm of Okies, Arkies, and Texans, so I hear assassination threats against Obama daily, and I’ve been beat up, cancer & all, for wearing an Obama button and having a sticker on my car, so I guess I can kind of imagine what most af Texas must be like. Keep up the good work!

TinFoilHat | 10/11/2008, 2:35 pm EST

Beat you up?! Damn! ‘Felons for McCain’.

FlappingHead | 10/11/2008, 4:13 pm EST

We should band together and run all of these idiot redneck dare-i- say racists out of the country…its like George Wallace and what’s his name that other segregationist idiot that ran for president were still among the living. Seriously…its truly sad and frightening that people are playing the “oh, he’s a black guy” or “his name is one letter away from osama,” get a grip, man. I say let’s rebrand Obama as Candidate Smith (as in Mr. Smith goes to Washington) so these idiots will just actually come out and say that they’re racists. (Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt) That way we can identify them all (rednecks), round ‘em up and ship them to Texas or some other damn place where they won’t harm anybody but themselves…then they can have their prayer breakfasts praising dub-ya, execute innocent people, outlaw abortion and worship their guns…ugh.

FlappingHead | 10/11/2008, 4:17 pm EST

Jesse Helms = segregationist
George Wallace = segregationist
Strom Thurmond = segregationist
hmmm…methink s I see a pattern here…weren’t they all..yeah…they were all republicans.

DirtyDennis | 10/11/2008, 5:30 pm EST

JB,

Sniff. No kudos for the old fart’s spelling? Sniff.

Bakersfield, eh? Now THERE is a place to rank in the top 10 places in visit in July.

Actually, though, you happen to live CLOSE to some really beautiful places.

Cancer? I hope that’s all behind you. My sis went through that a couple of times (she’s in Woodland) and I guess you’re never 100% you’ve won.

Glad you’re back.

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 11:56 am EST

George Wallace was a Democrat.

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 12:03 pm EST

BTW, I am not a Muslim. I am a Zoroastrian shaman. My family and I fled Turdistan when the Eyeatollastima Kumeini came to power do to fear of persecution. Tajed is a Persian name. To the stupid kunt from Bakersfield, religion is not culture. Any name can be Muslim, a Muslim can have any name. You probly don’t even realize how bias you are. Stupid kunt. Jed Clampett’s name looks like a clever play on mine, not the other way round.

Nader 2009!

DirtyDennis | 10/12/2008, 12:26 pm EST

TC,

Whatever you are, you do it, and yourself, discredit. JB observes, you vilify. Which is ’stupid?’

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 4:06 pm EST

You are dirty.

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 4:34 pm EST

Vilify is a great vocabulary word that we must all have recently learned. So surprising that with so few letters one can construct a whopping 3 syllables. Color me impressed! Tell me, though, do you think it’s really appropriate to use it as an intransitive verb? I mean, I suppose it works…but it just doesn’t seem right. Regardless there’s a variety if other coll words out there to choose from (or should I say, from which to choose?). Anyway, how about “smear”. Great monosyllabic choice, kinda sounds like it means. How about traduce or malign or vituperate? These are all great choices that all of you suckers might consider for variety’s sake. Or as my great-grandfather in Turdistan once remarked: “What makes you think you’re a man? You’re an overgrown jackrabbit. An elf with a hyperactive thyroid.”

Gwill | 10/12/2008, 8:45 pm EST

b or an s or just “bs!”

Captain Mortan | 10/12/2008, 10:04 pm EST

Rensselaer County is also infamous for College Republicans calling in the FBI when a controversial Chicago performance artist was scheduled to exhibit a video game called “Virtual Jihadi” at their school. When the artist was forcefully ejected from campus and the building hosting his exhibit quarantined, a local Independent Media Center offered to host the exhibit in its place. After a series of protests (organized by the GOP majority leader in the Rensselaer County Legislature, who stated while being filmed by student journalists his intention to shut down the exhibit), the Independent Media Center was closed due to “code violations.” Shortly after the incident, the center was re-opened after it was determined that the building had been exempt from code due to its historical nature all along. Nothing suspicious happened in that series of events, just like it was purely an accident that some careless proofreader happened to subsitute an “s” for a “b” in Barack’s name.

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 10:22 pm EST

To the man from Beverly Hills that is, Osama Barack Laden and Fitty Cent have flooded the market with cheap sports drinks to which I am shamefully addicted. Their electrochemical interferences are inhibiting my reception of the cosmic vibrations to which you are so well attuned. For my sake, please vote Nader 2009 who has made the levying of a stiff duty on these dangerous products a central element of his platform.

Tajed Clempt | 10/12/2008, 10:32 pm EST

Dirty Dickens,

I forgot to bring up the fact that it is a little inconsistent for you to accuse me of “vilification” for smearing the singular kunt from bakersfield while she pleasantly maligns the colective citizenry of the State of Texas.

DirtyDennis | 10/13/2008, 6:43 am EST

TC,

You must get your parents to take you there so you can see what she’s talking about.

Somewhere In The Middle | 10/13/2008, 12:52 pm EST

Just to clarify for those of you not familiar with Chicago or it’s politics, Republicans are about as common in city jobs as a one-legged ballerina in Swan Lake. By the by, isn’t it the Democrat’s policy to hire under qualified people in order to fulfill a hiring quota?
And Flappinghead, you might want to take another run through your history books, George Wallace was a Democrat.

Sallad | 10/13/2008, 1:21 pm EST

He was really a Dixiecrat (Democrats who disagreed with the national platform of civil rights for all)and then later a member of the Independent Party. And, if Wallace were a political operative in today’s world, he would most probably be a member of the Republican Party.

Anonymous | 10/13/2008, 1:47 pm EST

Jed Clampett

I find it truly amusing to see how they try to define people as either Republican or Democrat and that by their definition those people should behave in some particular manner merely because they should fit that definition. Of course, this is a self delusion created to try to explain to themselves something incomprehensible to them. Somehow they fail to recognize that those people are human beings, and as such, they cannot be pigeonholed into a particular all encompassing label. Humans’ motivations and intentions are as varied as the species of moths. And even within a particular species of moth, no two individuals are exactly alike. That is nature’s way.
Since they do not truly understand nature, or the nature of things, they try to pigeonhole the opponent, as they themselves have been, in order to more easily cause divisiveness and discord in order to distract from the real issues. Dissemble if you will.

Peace

TinFoilHat | 10/13/2008, 1:50 pm EST

Though I don’t doubt that democrats can hire under-qualified people, the republican philosophy of killing government services has consistently led to appointments of questionable administrators (ex-lobbyists in regulatory positions) and hiring of unqualified individuals to government jobs. A common conservative adage is “The best public servant is the worst one” in other words, a public servant who is too competent will make government largess look like a good thing. Better to have someone who will screw it up.

One consistent tact is to cut funding to government agencies, thus reducing the base pay for employees, then outsource to a private corporation where an individual doing the same job gets three times the pay. This kind of activity results from the republican “kill the beast” philosophy of governance.

Somewhere In The Middle | 10/13/2008, 3:33 pm EST

Jed, are you referring to your own usage of definitions to pigeonhole Dems and Repubs and their actions or just everyone else’s?

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE | 10/13/2008, 4:02 pm EST

Yes, Jed is self-referencing. That is about all he is good for. He is a mobius strip, forever going around and around and around. He is a blackhole where time becomes a loop, where time becomes a loop, where time becomes a loop. In many ways he, and perhaps this forum, is a microcosm of the contemporary American political discourse.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE | 10/13/2008, 6:48 pm EST

By the way, we have all gotten together and decided. We are mostly voting for Obama. Sorry Republicans.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE | 10/13/2008, 8:13 pm EST

And just for the sake of full disclosure, there are a great many of us who are in need of an enema.
