However, I don’t know what in the world McCain’s ability to fly a plane has to do with his ability to run a country. What if it turned out Obama was a crappy driver? Or John Kerry couldn’t program his VCR? Or George Bush couldn’t ride a bicycle? Who cares?!?

It’s not pointless to talk about this. The point is that McCain was given an elite position with a huge amount of responsibility while in the navy and he blew it off. He was all about the prestige of being a pilot,but didn’t give a crap about the responsibilities.

both candidates are nearly the same on every issue. obama is as much of a warhawk as mccain, and both answer to corporate lobbyists. but we can change this

I guess the point is that had it not been for his high-ranking father and grandfather, McCain would have been pulled from the MOS after the first crash. Then he’d be telling us how he served us in VNam on the mess detail.

That’s right TFH, it also exemplifies how McCain is deceitful and obfuscates issues that need not be so. If he had released his military records, this would have probably blown over a long time ago. By dissembling the issue, he insures that it can be resurected less than a month from election.
