I might start watching his show again.
…..
Nah.

Gwill | 9/24/2008, 11:59 pm EST

Thank God John McCain was able to suspend his campaign and meet with CBS News so that he could help solve the economic crisis.

David | 9/25/2008, 9:48 am EST

The real problem isn’t that he would suspend being president, but rather suspend elections.

The president who keeps us in constant crisis mode is preparing us for ever-increasing acts of government power, all in the name of the crisis du jour.

JP | 9/25/2008, 3:34 pm EST

I saw that Letterman show last night. He was in vintage form. The thing is he was right on with his assessment of John McCain. Between the announcement of suspending the campaign and finding out that John McCain lied to him about why he cancelled his appearance, David was justifibly upset. Ironically, they had Keith Olbermann to replace John McCain. He has a sh!t-eating grin on his face the whole time he was on the show.

PartyCrasher | 9/26/2008, 1:10 am EST

JP,
News Flash!!
Letterman is about as important as a pimple on a monkey`s ass. Like he never got stiffed by a guest before.
Sorry Dave. The Banking System is ready to collapse. Your show is not relevant. As was demonstrated by your replacement guest.
The reason Keith “Obamaman” has a sheet eating grin, is because that`s what comes out of his mouth.

What a couple of egotist with a super self inflated view of their importance, in the overall scheme of thing. A Big ZERO!!!

DirtyDennis | 9/26/2008, 2:43 pm EST

PC,

Letterman is viewed by millions every weekday. A handful of people read your posts every week.

Letterman is as important as a pimple on a monkey’s ass.

You as as important as …

PartyCrasher | 9/26/2008, 6:31 pm EST

Dirty D,
You said:
“You as as important as …”

DD, were you calling me an ass? Or am I getting to you and making you stutter?
If the prior, I think my feelings are hurt.

My point is, putting aside if McCain`s reason for stiffing Letterman was legit, if President John Doe is booked on Letterman`s Show and a crisis arises, should he keep his appearance on Letterman or cancel it to take care of the Nations Business.

Letterman is an entertainer. Thats all no matter how many people watch him.
Do you think if Obama canceled an appearance under the same circumstances, he would be as outraged and would replace him with say Rush Limbaugh?

PartyCrasher | 9/26/2008, 6:37 pm EST

Dirty D,
Never claimed to be important.
Just a patriotic public servant, doing my little bit to keep the two party system alive and well.

DirtyDennis | 9/26/2008, 8:16 pm EST

PC,

If you criticize another then isn’t it fair to apply the same criteria equally?

The falacy in your recitation is that, after ‘quitting’ Letterman, Johnny Boy saw fit to appear on another show. Kinna negates all the ‘value’ of the crisis. Makes you wonder about the man’s character, doesn’t it? Does me?

I’ll have to give that serious consideration when it comes time to vote. That is, of course, if Bushney LETS us vote.

JP | 9/27/2008, 12:23 am EST

The whole “suspending the campaign” was a political ploy. David Letterman knew it and wasn’t afraid to say it. It wasn’t that he was upset that someone cancelled an appearance on him. It was that John McCain lied about getting involved in a serious national crisis as the reason he cancelled. It’s like you have invited someone to a dinner party. That person cancelled on you claiming that there was a serious emergency that came up. In the middle of dinner, you find out that the person was at someone else’s dinner party. Wouldn’t you be upset?

As for how important David Letterman is to the electrate, I don’t care. Importance to other people doesn’t make what a person say valid or invalid. All I said, in regards to David Letterman, was that he was right about the idea of John McCain “suspending his campaign” smelling fishy.

PartyCrasher | 9/28/2008, 4:06 am EST

Dirty D,
If Bushney doesn`t allow you to vote you can have my vote. So sleep tight.

JP,
I don`t think his appearance on the other show was the same time slot.
But what a surprise, there`s politics going on during a Pres Campaign. Letterman said his little piece so good. He doesn`t have to belabor the point.

Besides Letterman is clearly partisan and uses his show to bash republicans constantly.
So I don`t feel that bad for him.
It`s not like McCain stiffed his mother for dinner.

DirtyDennis | 9/28/2008, 8:26 am EST

PC,

You don’t REALLY believe that if they deny ME the right to vote, they’re going to entrust YOU. To them, we’re one in the same: ideology fodder.

Coach | 9/28/2008, 8:27 pm EST

Crasher: “Besides Letterman is clearly partisan and uses his show to bash republicans constantly.”

What does that really mean? Does that mean that you think he’s bashing republicans just because he’s offended by their existence? Or, maybe, just maybe, it’s because he DOESN’T AGREE WITH ANY OF THE REPUBLICAN FEAR PROPOGANDA?

Fear Gays
Fear Color
Fear Terrorism
Fear Big Government (as if there IS such a thing)
Fear Athiests
Fear Immigrants
Fear Liberals

PartyCrasher | 9/29/2008, 3:44 am EST

Coach,

Fear Gays
Fear Color
Fear Terrorism
Fear Big Government (as if there IS such a thing)
Fear Athiests
Fear Immigrants
Fear Liberals

We don`t fear Terrorism. We want to destroy them. We have a heathy fear of what damage they can cause if not stopped. Thats called sanity.

And what is immoral about fear Terrorism?

Anonymous | 9/29/2008, 4:37 am EST

Jed Clampett

Actually, Letterman has been a constant backer of REPUBLICAN agendas. Lenno is the one who typically supports Democrat causes. This is what makes the Letterman defection from the McCain bandwagon so unprecedented. Even the diehard republican base can see that the ticket is the most dangerous thing for america that can be imagined.

Peace

DirtyDennis | 9/29/2008, 8:56 am EST

PC,

You don’t seem to realize the import of what you say. Fear NOTHING!!

To paraphrase FDR, the only thing you have to fear is yourself.

Terrorists? You realize, I hope, you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning than harmed by a ‘terrorist.’ And please, define just what a terrorist is? I believe the Brits considered John Adams and Thomas Jefferson terrorists. Do you?

Bin Laden’s stated goal was that the U.S. remove its forces from Saudia Arabia and stop propping up the royal family, which, I believe, Bin Laden is a part of.

Is that so bad? Why DO we need bases in Saudia Arabia? To protect ‘our’ oil? To ’stabilize’ the region?

It’s our own greed, selfishness and arrogance that breeds anger against this country. Just like the British parliment and royal family did to the American colonies. There is NO difference.

But then ‘terrorism’ was okay, now it’s not. Because the shoe is on the other foot.

And you wonder why I can’t stand the Right? Arrogant, pompous a-holes who would destroy all that is good and beautiful in this country for the sake of their continued (improving?) quality of life.

The only thing to FEAR are the Cons. They have all the power and don’t care who or what is destroyed in the continuance of their way of life.

The only good Con is a DEAD Con.

Converts accepted.

DirtyDennis | 9/29/2008, 2:44 pm EST

You said:
“And please, define just what a terrorist is? I believe the Brits considered John Adams and Thomas Jefferson terrorists.”
And you said:

A Liberal in a nut shell:
Adams, Jefferson and Bin Laden put on a moral equivalence.

Your premise is wrong. Yes Bin Laden wants us out of Saudi Arabia.
But that`s a first step in a much larger goal, that they are are quite clear about. Go to their web sites, listen to there videos, take the freakin cotton out of your ears and the blinders out of your eyes. Their stated goal, as in this is what they say.
THEY WANT A WORLD COMPLETELY UNDER ISLAMIC RULE AND LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Australia,
Antartica, the North Pole, Anwar, the Seven Seas and yes the good ole USA. Man it`s frustrating to get through to liberals. The facts don`t seem to faze.
Would you want to live in that kind of world? Do you think it`s worth fighting to prevent it? Or maybe a Taliban style hell hole is ok with you. As long as Dick Cheny ain`t in it.
Of course they do give you a second option. DEATH!

I got to go. I gave myself a head ache!

DirtyDennis | 9/29/2008, 3:28 pm EST

PC,

Sorry you got ‘hooked’ with my moniker. You have to keep an eye out on your Name Window.

I was wondering when we’d get to this point. “They said” and “They Want.” Classic paranoia. Who Cares?

The commies were going to take over the world for their ideology and ‘Our Cons’ want to take over the world for THEIR ideology. It’s the biggest game in town. Egomania taken to its most illogical conclusion.

Given that, how do we differentiate any of ‘them’ with ‘us?’ Because we’re ‘right’ and they’re ‘wrong?’ Because God’s on our side?

Do you REALLY feel threatened by Al Queda? That’s the same crap McCarthy used in the 50s. There’s a commie in every woodpile. (woodpiles were actually an intregal part of American society. Once.)

I’m MORE afraid of the religous kooks who say the world’s going to end and if you haven’t ‘found jesus’ or some such thing, you’re going to be ‘left behind.’ What if they’re right?

Hell, if I were born in the MiddleEast, I’d want to burn down the West too. You ARE a product of your environment. And who is responsible for the environment in the MiddleEast? Rhetorical question.

PartyCrasher | 9/30/2008, 2:54 am EST

DD,
I`ll keep it simple.

You said:
I was wondering when we’d get to this point. “They said” and “They Want.” Classic paranoia. Who Cares

I said: It`s what they say, I`m not making it up.

You said:
“Given that, how do we differentiate any of ‘them’ with ‘us?’ Because we’re ‘right’ and they’re ‘wrong?”

I said: YES

You said:
Do you REALLY feel threatened by Al Queda? That’s the same crap McCarthy used in the 50s. There’s a commie in every woodpile. (woodpiles were actually an intregal part of American society. Once.)

I said: Maybe when on a plane.Look I`m not sitting around worrying about them. But I want them defeated and destroyed. Before they lucky again, but this time with a nuke.

You said:
I’m MORE afraid of the religous kooks who say the world’s going to end and if you haven’t ‘found jesus’ or some such thing, you’re going to be ‘left behind.’ What if they’re right?

I said: Why are you afraid of them?
They just have a religious belief.
You`re free to believe or not to believe Jesus. They ain`t gonna behead you. As to ‘left behind.’ What if they’re right?
Well if they are, they`ll be gone. You`ll be left behind and you won`t have worry about them anymore. Problem solved.
But then you`ll have a whole new set of personal issues to deal with.

Finally, you said:
Hell, if I were born in the MiddleEast, I’d want to burn down the West too. You ARE a product of your environment. And who is responsible for the environment in the MiddleEast? Rhetorical question.

I said:
They and their sleazy leaders are responsible. I`m sick of them being pissed off at the world for the mess they made for them selves.
Non Rhetorical answer.

PartyCrasher | 10/2/2008, 12:10 pm EST

Dirty D.

Where are you buddy? You usually reply promptly to my posts. I`m worried about you. You ok?

My last post:

In TD`s Blog Article:

“Quote of the Day”

PartyCrasher | 9/30/2008, 2:54 am EST

DirtyDennis | 10/2/2008, 1:44 pm EST

I’m ‘okay.’ As with you and Prescott B., sometimes I weary of the same harrangue.

Now, perhaps if YOU responded to my two posts under ‘Required Reading’ and ‘Gingrich,’ maybe, just maybe, I’d be motivated to respond to this one.

However, we BOTH were getting a little off track here and you never did really address fear.

PartyCrasher | 10/3/2008, 4:42 pm EST

Dirty D,
I`ll try to check out those posts. And I thought I did address fair. May be not. Problem is, there`s so much news being created presently, it`s hard to find time to go back to old blogs. Plus I don`t even remember half the time, which blogs I`ve posted to.
I need a ways to organize my posts. So that I can easily find them and the posts of others without have to slog through every article looking for them. Got any tips? Anybody.

PartyCrasher | 10/3/2008, 4:45 pm EST

Dirty D,

Let me correct myself. I meant “fear”

DirtyDennis | 10/3/2008, 5:55 pm EST

PC,

In the ‘early days’ (early for me on this site, that is) I used to keep a notepad file where I’d past the URL for a particular thread, along with a tag to remind me the topic.

PartyCrasher | 10/6/2008, 2:05 am EST

DD,

Yeah I use Note Pad. I thought there might be a better way.

I`ll make you a deal. I finally couldn`t deal with the tit for tat with Coach about Hagee vs Wright anymore. So I got all the facts I could find and put them in six consecutive posts to Coach. I used six so I wouldn`t loose all the info if it didn`t get posted. Don`t know if he`ll read them. But if you check them out. I`ll check out yours.

they are under:
McCain Suspends Campaign to Inject Pres. Politics.

DirtyDennis | 10/6/2008, 9:32 am EST

PC,

I follow all your comments. It seemed to be a one on one with you and Coach so I stayed away. The truth is, I don’t care much who the candidates chum up with as long as they are ‘discrete.’ This is politics and it’s a dirty game.

I care only about ideology: the Right vs the Left. If Obama was running as a GOP, he wouldn’t get my vote.

Because, I am opposed, as stated elsewhere, to the conservative ideology as demonstrated by the GOP leaders the past twenty or so years.

You vote for the GOP and you get wars, increased military spending, depleted social programs, suspension of environment laws, regressive conservative judiciary AND, of significant import at the moment, an irresponsible economic climate.

The ‘capitalists’ of today’s Right are equal to their counterpart of the 20s in greed and stupidity.

Nature abhors a vacumn. The ‘Left’ is natures counterbalance to that aforementioned greed and stupidity.

PS I notice you’re taking the ‘low road’ in some of your recent posts. I caution you against that. It achieves nothing save demeaning your credibility.
