It was ‘common knowledge’ that JFK picked LBJ for political considerations. For one thing, it was obvious that he would bring in TX.

But I recently read Manchester’s and Sallinger’s books on Kennedy and both said Jack truly admired LBJ. Now that could very well have been for the record, but even LBJ always asserted that JFK was a stand-up guy. Not Bobby, however.

You seem to think JFK liked and admired Johnson. I’ve read accounts where the opposite was true, he understood he was forced to accept the choice of a member of the ‘CBC’(corrup bastards club) because of the way the system is set up by the elite members of the 1%. The same happened to Reagan, why is this? Why aren’t the people, the public allowed to decide who #2 will be? Why isn’t the pres allowed to replace him when he’s lost confidence in his abilities or intent?
Why, having so many options for impeachment available to them, have the american people not removed the evil elements from the seats of power despite their innefective leaders? Fear? apathy? lack of intellect? An education system that doesn’t teach them the responsabilities of the populace in a ‘free’ society?
You’re right, voting probably wouldn’t make a bit of difference, at this point guillotines seem to be the only solution.
