Speaking of clean hits… how about all the new allegations agains the most senior republican senator Ted Stevens. Now it has been learned he accepted a backup power generator installed by the ‘corrupt bastards club’ and not disclosed. Many other allegations are coming to light. I hope they delay prosecution till after Bushney leaves office, that way he can’t be pardoned for helping steal from the american people. Now, lets fully investigate these corrupt petroleum operators and lets take control of our most important resourse. If Tom Ogle could make his 1976 FORD Galaxy 500 run on gasoline vapors for 200 miles on 2 gallons in 1979, surely we can do as well or better if they right carrots and really big sticks are offered. Hell, they’ve had carrots long enough, just give them sticks, if they don’t fall inline, they won’t survive. Then start the investigations into collusion by the major players in the auto industry and oil industry. Don’t let money protect them like it did OJ.

Everyone remember when you folks were fired up about John Kerry and John ” Not Da Babies Daddy ” Edwards.
Remeber that comment about Kerry Ain’t got a Snowballs chance in,, well you get the idea.
After the election, your going to look back on this and see how foolish your looking now.

Man, all Tim gives us is ads. What a warped perspective. I don’t want to hear anything about issues later.

I give you Sir Penguin, and Tim gives you ads. I rest my case.

Wild Thingie, is it time to start putting your ‘money’ where your mouth is? (Since exchange of $$$ in this sphere is highly unlikely, I use the term money symbolically.)

You seem to have a large-on for Johnny Boy and see Mr. Obama as a lightweight. Care to back that position up?

DD:
Who has Obama beaten by himself?
Without someone using the race card for him..
Now John McClinton,, McClain,,, McCain,, sorry, I can’t tell the diff between Hillary McCain and John Clinton by their voting record.
I don’t want a Far Right Conservative ” Bible Thumping Child Molester ” breathing down my neck as president and I sure as hell don’t want a ” Liberal Chicken Phuker ” blowing smoke up my ass as president.
I’d like to have a little Right of Center person who’s got Balls but also someone who’s got the self control to know when and how to use them, to be our next president.
And that person is not running.
So the democrats and the republicans need to make up for this shortcoming of theirs by,,
Putting Abortion-On-Demand on a national referendum.
Gay Marriage on a national referendum.
Term Limits on a national referendum.
Immigration restrictions / reform and the abolishment of anchor babies and things of that nature.
And a complete audit of every department in federal government, including those who receive welfare benefits, food stamps, ect.
After we find out who’s skrewing you and me out of our tax money, it’s time for these little bastard to start re-paying us with penalties and interest,, might as well make dead beat fathers start paying their share of the cost of raising a child.
Now, when we’ve recovered the more than 2 trillion dollars that our ” GUBMENT ” has borrowed from SSI, we can start talking about the status quo and things that should or could be done..

Wild Thing,

I’ll give you that Obama hasn’t been ‘bloodied’ in battle, yet. But if you’re going to make that a criteria, who has Johnny Boy beaten? What has HE done by himself, except be born well and marry well? We’ve seen what ‘born well’ bears.

I think Obama has the chance to be exactly the man you described. I hope he GETS the chance.

Who can argue with your sentiments although I find is disconcerting that you’re worried more about welfare for the individual than welfare for industry.

Why, tell me, is it okay to subsidize businesses, BIG, successful businesses, but not to subsidize people?

Dennis– to answer your question, no on both, except in certain circumstances. By and large, neither busnesses nor people should be given welfare. There are exceptions, such as the farm and rail industries (which need govt subsidies to compete in the global market, or are such a value to US economic interests that the govt is forced to invest in them), and people with disabilities, either mental or physical, or those who have been injured heinously in some way, via no real fault of their own

other than that, it should be the rule of the jungle…if you make poor choices, either business wise or personally, you have to live with it…without big brother govt coming to wipe your ass and make everything better (which it almost never does…the only things govt is reasonably good at is taking your money and killing people…)

Merk,

You being a Libertarian, your position is consistent.

Me being a Liberal, my position is the opposite.

You, I know, can not, in good conscience, ignore someone in need. There will ALWAYS be people, and organizations, in need. Only government has the largesse and organization to help.

That said, I want the aid to be scrupulous and accountable. Sure, we’ll help XYZ company, but AFTER your CEO takes an 80% pay cut and AFTER about twenty VPs are let go.

Sure, we’ll help you my friend, but YOU have to help us help you and YOU have to help yourself as well.

One role of government is to help those in need. And Lord knows we have a few of them. If a company goes under, it takes workers with it. Workers who would, thereafter, be applying for government aid.

I know you see fit to help. The difference between thee and me is where to draw the line.

Bravo Dennis.

Keep channeling the light.

Delta, you can’t have it both ways. On one hand, you infer that he’s too young, naive, too left, and hasn’t beaten anybody. But, on the other hand, you pigeonhole him as if he’s been around forever. You’re right,he’s new to the scene. So? (cheney, 2008) At least he’s not McCain. That dude’s on a warpath (odd, huh?). A man who was held captive hellbent on war? Imagine that…..
