After all the silly season BS that’s been floating around this summer, it’s well worth your time to delve into this half hour of commanding substance.

Were American & we’ve been laughing at Canada for SO long now that our sides hurt and we feel like we might puke. You wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for us. Pathetic country, Canada. Nothing but rude jerks and ugly women!

Dear Canadian Brother or Sister,
Yes, we have some silly and shallow people here. Most of us can take some good natured ribbing.I have always enjoyed Canadian hospitality when I have visited your country. Most of us, except Donkey Kong and the Bushies can take a little criticsm without a violent response.

Donkey Kong, it’s people like you that give America a bad name and give people reasons to hate us. Grow up you infantile moron.

Finally had time to sit down and watch this video. Yes,there was definitely commanding substance. Well put. After FISA, I was starting to lose faith in Obama. After watching this, my faith is more than restored. He is an intelligent and forward looking leader. McCain is such a reptilian character. Can’t imagine him even having the ideas presented by Obama. Hope the Congress will support O in his endeavors.

They talk about ‘The Surge’ working. What a crock. We’re gonna hear about it a lot this fall. As if!!
Violence IS down but it’s folly to say the surge had anything to do with it. It was/is a multiplicity of factors. For one, most of the violence was aimed at ethnic cleansing and what with over 3 million refugees, I think you can say the population has been redistributed (segregated) into Sunni on one side, Shiite on another.
For another, we ‘bought off’ the Sunni, in essence, legitimizing and rearming the very forces we overthrew to begin with.
And while roadside bombing would appear to be down, that could be explained by two simple considerations: the bombs were actually ‘lures’ to aid in cleansing and the ‘insurgents’ want us to think all is well. On the former, we have instances where U.S. troops have ‘retaliated’ against bombs by razing the area when the bomb occurred, as if the bombers set them up in their own front yard. Given the racial disdain displayed by our soldiers against the Iraqi people it is not difficult to imagine our troops not accrediting subtlety to the indigenous.
As to the latter, the Iraqis are faced with a conundrum: if hostilities abate, as they are, Johnny Boy can, and is, claim the surge is the cause which would, conceiveably, aid him in his election bid. Realistically, however, it’s easier to imagine the U.S. voting populace to forget all about a ‘quiet’ Iraq and focus on the economy, which seems to be the case.
The good news is, the ‘quiet’ in Iraq could become habit forming. And if BHO indeed triumphs, he could use the quiesce to broker a more substantive peace. We can hope.

On another ‘front,’ how many of our guys were killed the other day in afghanistan? Nine? And now we’re pulling out (retreating?) from that outpost?
Doesn’t that bespeak some ineptitude in the command and control element? Shouldn’t someone be held accountable for those deaths?
What’s that? The Commander In Chief (and his Exec) aren’t accountable for any of their gross ineptitudes so how can their subordinates be? Hmmmm, I guess the precedence holds throughout.

Many thanks to the beverly hillbillies at the Colbert Report for the fantastic homage to Rush. May wealth and wisdom flow freely from earth to you as well.
Just a thought… ‘Big Money’ would have been more appropos to the current national situation.
Don’t get your hopes up too much on Sen. Obama. Take it all with a grain of salt and hold their feet to the fire once they hold the office. Big Money has a way of turning the best of intentions into bad actions. BigMoney wants this war expanded, not contracted… and no president is going to get in their way. Large amounts of cash have a way of making things happen in the background that even gov is incapable of slowing down.
