The Hug “Attack”

7/8/08, 8:15 pm EST

The McCain campaign is calling an Obama ad featuring their candidate hugging bush an “attack ad.”

Honestly, the only thing feeling assaulted are my eyes. That hug is definitely more cringe worthy in video form.

An attack ad? Where’s the attack? …or am I missing something?

Repubs are notorious for lying and making-it-up-as-they-go.

Looks like the Bushbuddies have already gotten a firm grip on the McCain train.

How sad.

this fake distancing of mccain from bush is puzzling.

it’s like the little old lady who was forcible removed from a mccain rally for bearing the sign “mccain=bush”.

someone in the campaign saw this as an insult and referred her to a cop. well, she was a proud republican; she kept asking ‘what is wrong with the sign?’

the idea of a maverick mccain is laughable at this point. when these politicians reach a certain point, the really big money gets thrown at them. their priorities somehow start to shift. we get the lowest common denominator during general election time. yes, MCCAIN DOES EQUAL BUSH. but wether that’s an insult or not just depends on who’s saying it…

I don’t see a problem with Borack Hussien Obama’s add.
I’m just wondering when we will see more muslim women in head dress in Borack Hussien Obama’s adds.
Thank allah that Borack Hussien Obama has decided not to pull out of Iraq, we’re going to need them there after Israel uses conventional weapons to obtain a nuclear result in dealing with Iran’s nuclear facilities.

I noticed you didn’t capitalize “bush” in the post. I ponder whether that was intentioned or not.

celticfenian | 7/9/2008, 8:43 pm EST

how is mccain different from bush?

is it foreign policy? no
is it tax policy? no
is it domestic policy? no
is it energy policy? no

hmmmmm….

My problem isn’t with this ad but Tim Dickenson’s offensive slanted blog… not one positive thing about McCain and not one negative comment about Obama… Hmmmm, wonder who he’s voting for…

Coach | 7/10/2008, 1:17 am EST

Anonymous, if you can’t find anything positive about McCain, it quite possibly be because there isn’t anything positive to say.

I’m not sure anybody even knows who he is anymore. He’s aligned himself completely with everything Bush, but still pretends to be a maverick.

Nothing negative about Obama could also mean there isn’t anything negative to say, as of yet…..

Oh, there’s plenty bad to say about Obama, as the man’s actual policy positions change on a daily basis, but all those blinded by the whole ’second coming’ bs arent going to say it, including Tim…but hey, he has the audacity of hope, so I feel comfortable already

on the other hand, theres not much you can say for McCain, other than he has a semi-ok immigration reform plan, and that he has a semi-concrete plan for the ME and terrorism (note, I didnt say good…I just said he has a plan, which is more than one can say for my man Obam)

meet the new bosses, same as the old bosses

Like corn ethanol… great.

Thanks obama, I’m glad you ignore one set of lobbying scum for … another set of lobbying scum.

is it just me or does everyone see mccain’s campaign as just a bunch of bumbling idiots? and how is this going to affect his cabinet if he pulls off a longshot victory in november?

DirtyDennis | 7/11/2008, 8:38 am EST

Cabinet, HAIL, what about the courts?

helloooo | 7/15/2008, 12:17 am EST

“attack ad???”

Was it not McCain who hugged Bush? Or was McCain molested by Bush? Both?

This “maverick” is the most impotent, pathetic fossil I have ever seen. He’s flipped just about every major position he’s ever held; his spine is made of jell-o.

Bush jacked him up in S. Carolina in 2000 and now McCain is HUGGING HIM?!? WHAT A SPINELESS COWARD!

How can someone as pathetic as McCain even look at himself in the mirror each morning? He’s not a war hero, he’s an insult to war heroes everywhere. Since he couldn’t defeat Bush in 2000 even after Bush humiliated and destroyed him by insinuating he fathered a black child out of wedlock, McCain instead hugs Bush as if he were an American soldier hugging Osama bin Laden.

McCain has no morals. No values. Nothing. He was against Bush’s tax cuts before he was for them; he was for Rumsfeld’s Iraq war before he was against it; he hated evangelical John Hagee before he sought for and accepted his endorsement, only to revoke it later.

The man is a spineless flip-flopper. There is no better word to describe John McCain: SPINELESS.

in reply to anonymous.

Obama has yet to change his policies you uninformed dweb. It is McCain who changes his ‘policies’ probably more than he changes his underwear. Obama was against invasion of Iraq from day one, McCain for it…..just one little fact. There are just too many things to even mention here that McCain has gone back and forth on…..but I guarantee that if you actually read reports and real news you would find the information that you so desperatly need in order to make an ‘informed’ decision. Helpful hint…..fox news is not news….duh.

non pleb | 7/20/2008, 2:10 pm EST

to just watching…….hey pinhead Barack is not a muslim….first lie……second he has nothing to do with the people that killed so many on 9/11 under Bushs watch. In fact Barack wants to go after Osama, something this administration has dropped the ball on from the beginning and in the last 7 years….bush had osama brothers and sisters escorted out of this country on 9/11 one of the few planes in the air on that day after the attack…..see a little problem there do ya? Get a grip. And get educated!!
