Quote of the Day: Ross Perot on McCain’s Character

6/9/08, 2:31 pm EST

McCain is the classic opportunist. He’s always reaching for attention and glory. After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona. And the rest is history.

–Ross Perot, as quoted in this piece about John McCain’s first marriage: The wife John McCain callously left behind | Mail Online

So? The janitor in my building left his wife for a younger lady with a higher salary and he still squeezes his mop just as efficiently as he did before his divorce.

I like the comparison of McCain to a janitor. It’s fitting…

Agreed, this is kind of silly to get worked up about (and on this site it isn’t a shocker that they tried to play it up).

The quote given here is pretty misleading. After reading the full article, it seems relatively clear that she was not the same woman that he had left. I can’t really get too disgusted with this, sorry.

“Today, she stands at just 5ft4in and still walks awkwardly, with a pronounced limp. Her body is held together by screws and metal plates and, at 70, her face is worn by wrinkles that speak of decades of silent suffering.”

This is just a trash pity piece, trying to make us sympathetic to his old wife just so that we can get outraged about McCain’s personal life.

Hey all things considered, he is nowhere near being as big of a womanizer as JFK – and that man is now treated as a fallen second coming to lots of people!

To the creeps who think it’s ok to dump your injured wife: Maybe someday you’ll be disfigured and crippled in an accident and your wives will dump your sorry asses. Oh yeah, that’s right — you probably don’t have wives because you have no honor or decency.

McCain married Carol, who had divorced her old husband that she had two kids with. They were married about a year before he went off to war. It was more than six years from when he left to when he came home, to a different woman than the one he married. Even that article has Carol stating that there aren’t any rough feelings between them.

Gotta love how people are always so eager to demonize men in divorce cases. Was Carol a terrible person because she also divorced someone? No. You’re just saps who are letting emotion over-ride logic. Sure it’s a bit sad, but a lame attempt at attacking him.

The point is that right-wing moralizers should walk their talk!
McCain talks about honor and loyalty… while his actions speak otherwise. Comparing him to a janitor insults the janitor – who probably works hard at a job for which he is qualified!

It’s crap that McCain puts country first – sorry, but if you really put your country first, you wouldn’t nominate an unqualified person as Vice-President.

McBush and McPaleface… junk food from the McRepublicans.
